Specified Column(s) on Responsive Design (Bootstrap)

Hi,

I am trying to use DataTables to load Data using Server-Side Method and making it responsive to mobile sizes using Bootstrap.
My table is empty on first load and since I cannot find any option to load responsive design without any data, I tried to load a default empty JSON from the Server.
However, since the first two columns Headers are Date & Category (which consumes only lesser width) respectively, on first load the columns are visible, and after reloading the data with exact data from the Database -and the Date Format of the Data is lengthy- the responsiveness goes wrong and resizing the width of the DataTable. I also tried to use the autoWidth to false but to no avail.
I would like to ask if there is a way to only specify column or columns to display on the DataTables Responsive Design using Bootstrap?
