how to use third party controls in the grid like drop down etc .can u point me to any tutorial for that.

It shouldn't really be any different from when you use the thridparty software without DataTables.
If you are struggling with it, please link to a test case showing the issue.

Sorry I think I didnt put it properly.I mean suppose I want use another kind of date input or another kind of dropdown list in datatbles grid or form while editing or adding .
simply put I dont want to use the default date or dropdown input control in grid
Do you mean inside an Editor form? If so, then absolutely yes that can be done. The details on how to write a custom field type are available in the manual.
