Sum values in footer of selected rows (i'm a newbie)

First of all i am a newbie , i don't understand almost nothing when it comes to jquerry.
Second of all , GREAT PLUGIN you've made , i just found it yesterday :p
Now to come to my problem ... i need to sum in the footer , only the values of selected rows (selected as in the method of selection posted here http://www.datatables.net/examples/server_side/select_rows.html)
I guess that practicaly i take the hidden column in the example as a filter and use it in the sum thing.
I browsed a little in the forum before posting , but i don't understand how to combine the things ... the sum and the selct features. ME <- Dumb
