How to add a search text box in a field in the form when modifying a row?

hi guys,
I'm pretty new on datatables editor and I'd like you to help me with this issue.

I have a form with a select field where more than 3000 items are loaded. I'd like to allow the user to search within this field in the same way I can do for individual columns in tables.

Is this possible? how?

I have the same issue. A selector for city names.

I would also be interested in a pattern for this problem.
