How to make datatables flow in columns.

I have a project where I use the datatable to select a customer then a second datatable below to edit some data. ( I select the customer ID from the first one).

In the first datatable I only need to see the company ID & name so there is a lot of wasted space.

Is it possible to make the datatable auto flow into 2 / 3 columns. eg if width = 500 1 column / if with >500 < 1000 2 columns etc etc.

No - sorry. That isn't something that HTML table elements can do.
