Search in header for all columns

I use the code on https://datatables.net/extensions/fixedheader/examples/options/columnFiltering.html to put a search box in the header columns and it works great - except, I have about 16 columns in my table, and on init, only 7 are visible. How do I get the search boxes in all columns, including the ones not initially visible?
