Hi - great plugin.
One point - users sometimes forego the mouse and use the tab key on the keyboard to jump between inputs, or is recognised by browsers as being somewhere that can grab focus (i.e. a tab stop). However, elements are not tab stops. But DataTables (1.8) uses elements for the pagination controls when using 'full_numbers' mode.
Answering this myself as I found that the 1.9 release does exactly this - see http://datatables.net/upgrade/1.9.
So, answer is to upgrade to 1.9.
