Reporting errors when deleting rows?

I'm trialing Editor and ended up having to do my own server-side code. I've figured out new and editing rows, but for deleting rows, I cannot figure out how to report an error back regarding the deletion process. I tried populating sError and fieldErrors, with no success - it either just sits there or acts like the deletion was successful.
