Hi,
Just a FYI:
I started creating some custom field types for MDBoostrap components (text, textarea, multiselect) so you can use MDBoostrap with the Editor just fine.
In case you want to have a look: https://dev.x509.info has a demo. Got it working with default display controller and the Envelope display controller both with and without templates.
