SearchPanes' Pre-Select not working on page load

Description of problem: I'm looking to implement the preSelect option for searchPanes, but it does not seem to work when the page loads. It does work when the searchPanes' button is pressed.

I also want to point out that I'm implementing the button this way because I have three other buttons on my table. I have the searchPanes' button here alone to demonstrate what is happening with my table.
